Facebook ads cost calculator
Enter your CPM, click-through rate and conversion rate to see your cost per click and your cost per lead or sale. Then turn it into a daily budget.

Calculator
CPM, CTR and conversion rate are prefilled from our benchmark table for your business type and region. Replace them with numbers from your own Ads Manager and landing page.
Benchmark for this business type and region: usually ≈$17 per lead, from $7.5 to $40.
Your cost per result is inside the benchmark range.
This is an estimate, not a promise. Real results depend on your website, offer, competition and season. Benchmarks: AdAce internal estimate, updated 2026-10-31. Inputs and results are calculated in your browser; nothing is sent or stored.
The formulas
- CPC = CPM ÷ 1,000 ÷ CTR
- Cost per result (CPL or CPA) = CPC ÷ conversion rate
- Monthly budget = results you want × cost per result
How to use the result
- Start from the value of one result: the most you can pay for a lead or a sale and still make money.
- Compare it with the cost per result above. If your number is higher than that limit, fix the weakest input first: the ad for CTR, the page for conversion rate. Raising the budget will not fix it.
- Multiply the cost per result by the results you want per month. That is the monthly budget shown above; divide it by 30.4 for a daily budget.
- Run a test for 7–14 days, replace the benchmark inputs with your real CPM, CTR and conversion rate, and recalculate. Meta needs about 50 results a week per ad set to settle, so expect costs to move at first.
Common mistakes
- Mixing CTR types. Use the link click-through rate, not the rate of all clicks including likes and comments.
- Mixing up a lead and a sale. A 5% lead rate says nothing about sales: for cost per sale, use the share of clicks that end in a purchase.
- Calculating from the best day. Use at least a week of data, or the benchmark, not a lucky result.
- Forgetting that CPM changes with season, audience and competition. Recheck the inputs every month.
Common questions
How do you calculate the cost of Facebook ads?
Divide CPM by 1,000 and by CTR to get the cost per click, then divide that by your conversion rate to get the cost per lead or sale. This calculator does both steps. What you pay overall is the budget you set; the calculator shows what each result is likely to cost.
What is a good CPM, CTR and conversion rate on Facebook?
It depends on your industry, offer, audience and country, so no single number is honest. We prefill typical ranges from AdAce internal estimates for your business type and region. Replace them with your own account numbers as soon as you have a few days of data.
Is CPL the same as CPA?
The formula is the same. CPL is the cost of one lead, such as a form or a call, and CPA is the cost of one acquisition, usually a sale. What changes is the conversion rate you use: leads per click for CPL, sales per click for CPA.
How much should I spend on Facebook ads a day?
Work backwards: the results you want per month times the cost per result, divided by 30.4. For a first test many small businesses use $10–20 a day for 7–14 days, as our guide to Facebook ad costs explains. This is an estimate, not a promise of results.
Does the calculator store or send my numbers?
No. It runs in your browser and does not send or save what you type.
