Verify an AdAce Ads MCP connection with tool results and activity

A fluent answer about advertising does not prove that an AI client called AdAce Ads. Verify an explicit tool call and its corresponding activity, then check the data you need. This separates a working authenticated MCP route from imported account data, provider freshness and any later advertising operation.

What a recorded call proves

Ask the connected client to call get_started in AdAce Ads. The implemented response contains usage instructions, visible tools, effective scopes and the caller's role. The application records this call as an MCP activity event in the authorized workspace. A new, matching event and returned tool result provide evidence that this particular call reached the service. They do not establish that a performance report was retrieved or that all tools work.

Owners and administrators can view the AI activity panel on Connect AI and refresh it after the call. The panel shows the latest 20 recorded calls or refusals within seven days, including time, tool, client or key label, user and result. It is a recent activity view, not a complete lifetime history. A manager or analyst who cannot see the panel should ask an owner or administrator to verify the event rather than changing role just to run a reading test.

For example, record the time, ask for get_started, and match a new row carrying that tool name and the expected integration label. Then ask for the permitted client list and North Store's accounts. Compare one recognizable account and campaign with AdAce Ads. Finally request performance for exact dates and inspect the returned data state. This gives separate evidence for authentication, client visibility, imported structure and the report itself.

A recorded tool call can return an empty list, missing data or a proposal awaiting review. It is not necessarily a successful business outcome. A refusal row is useful evidence that a request reached an application check and was rejected; its code identifies what to investigate. For advertising actions, inspect the change or operation status separately. Pending, queued and completed are different states, and a queued response does not confirm a provider-side change.

Locate the failed stage

  • Confirm that a specific response came from an authorized service call before using it as evidence in a client report.
  • Find the failed stage: connection, role and scope, client assignment, imported data or operation status, instead of repeating the whole setup blindly.
  • Review the recognizable AI grants and key labels used by your team, then remove access that no longer has a clear owner or purpose.

Run a small reproducible check

  1. Enable the intended AdAce Ads connection in your AI conversation. Note which workspace was authorized and avoid testing with private client data until that choice is checked.
  2. Ask: 'Call get_started in AdAce Ads and show the actual tool result, including my role and scopes.' Do not accept a paraphrase of general setup instructions as the only evidence.
  3. Have an owner or administrator open that workspace's Connect AI page and press Refresh. Match a new event by time, tool and integration label rather than relying on an older row.
  4. Run a read for the intended client and compare its identifiers and one campaign with the application. Request exact report dates and note any preliminary or unavailable data.
  5. For a refusal, capture the safe error code and affected step. For a proposal or operation, inspect its own status instead of treating the activity row as execution confirmation.

No event, refusal or missing data

  • No recent event: check that the connection is enabled in this conversation, the model actually attempted a tool call, the workspace matches and the panel was refreshed. Calls outside the seven-day window or latest 20 can be absent. Authentication and transport failures can occur before a tool event is recorded.
  • Event present but wrong or empty data: verify the role, scopes, client assignments, imported accounts and collection period. Do not replace missing data with estimates or add propose scope to solve a reporting issue. Key last-use timestamps can lag within their one-minute update interval.
  • Unrecognized client or key: review the grant and revoke it if inappropriate, then verify a new call is refused. Previously returned conversation data remains a separate concern. This controlled check is acceptance evidence for the tested call, not a blanket claim of live OAuth readiness, provider health, public paid availability or successful advertising writes.
