Change limits: max change, daily increase and writes per hour
Limits are the seatbelt of automation. They are checked for every proposal — from people, AI, agents and automations — and automation can never exceed them.
What it does
Three limits per client: maximum change per operation (100% by default), maximum increase within a day (200% by default) and maximum writes per hour (20 by default). Campaign, ad group, ad and audience creations count toward the hourly limit together with changes.
A proposal that breaks a limit is refused with a clear reason. Only a human owner can override a limit, with a written reason that stays in the log; automation cannot override limits under any policy.
Why it helps
- No accidental 10× budget increases.
- Runaway automations are stopped by design.
- Limits tuned to each client's size.
How to set it up
- Open the client's write policy.
- Set maximum change percent, maximum daily increase and writes per hour.
- Save; new proposals are checked against the new limits.
Good to know
- Agent guardrails can be stricter than the client's limits, never softer.
- Limits apply to both Google and Meta changes.
