Tracking & measurement
Count form submissions as leads
Many sites collect leads through forms, not only phone or messenger buttons. The Tag Manager plan can count form submissions as leads too — when you choose to.
What it does
If you tick “Also count form submissions as leads” in the plan, a form submission trigger is added with validation on all pages. The GA4 event, the Google Ads conversion and the Meta event are then attached to both the click trigger and the form trigger, with the channel “form” for Meta.
Because the trigger counts every form on the site, it is off by default: sites with search or newsletter forms would get false leads.
Why it helps
- Measure form leads without custom development.
- One consistent lead definition across GA4, Google Ads and Meta.
- Opt-in design prevents false conversions.
How to set it up
- Run the tracking audit and open the change plan.
- Tick “Also count form submissions as leads”.
- Review the plan, prepare and publish.
Good to know
- Enable only when the site's forms are lead forms.
- Rollback removes the trigger together with the rest of the published change.
