Client KPI event: judge campaigns by the business goal
A client may care only about purchases, even if some ad sets optimize for add to cart. The client KPI event makes that rule explicit across the whole platform.
What it does
The KPI event applies to Meta campaigns with a conversion objective (sales and leads). When set, it becomes their result in all calculations, overriding the optimization event. CPA and ROAS in analytics, monitors, agents, client reports and the GA4 comparison all use the same event.
Changing the KPI immediately schedules a re-collection of the last 30 days for the client's Meta accounts, so the numbers update consistently.
Why it helps
- One definition of success per client.
- Automation and people use the same yardstick.
- Consistent numbers in every report.
How to set it up
- Open the client's settings in Analytics and find “Client KPI event”.
- Choose the event (for example Purchase or a custom conversion).
- Press “Save KPI” and wait for the re-collection.
Good to know
- Only owners and admins can change the KPI event.
- Older days beyond 30 are recalculated with their next collection.
