Instagram account in Meta creatives: avoid silent delivery errors

An ad can be “active” and still not deliver because its creative has no Instagram account. AdAce Ads checks this before creating ads, not after.

What it does

Meta replaced the old Instagram field in creatives with a new one. Creatives that only have the old field produce ads without an Instagram identity, which Meta marks as an error on Instagram placements.

Before copying an ad or creating a new creative, the service reads the source creative. If it has a current Instagram account, the new ad gets the same one. If not and the ad set serves on Instagram, the service refuses before any write and explains the options: choose an Instagram account (or “Use Facebook Page”) for the source ad in Ads Manager, or limit the ad set to Facebook placements.

Why it helps

  • No ads stuck in an error state after launch.
  • Clear instructions instead of cryptic Meta errors.
  • Facebook-only ad sets still work without an Instagram account.

How to set it up

  1. Create or copy an ad as usual.
  2. If the service reports a missing Instagram account, open the source ad in Ads Manager.
  3. Select the Instagram account or “Use Facebook Page” and save.
  4. Repeat the creation in AdAce Ads.

Good to know

  • The service does not create page-backed Instagram accounts — Meta deprecated those endpoints.
  • Delivery status shows the problem if it happens in ads created elsewhere.
