Meta custom audiences: website visitors and lookalikes

Custom audiences turn your website traffic into targeting. AdAce Ads creates pixel-based visitor audiences and lookalikes directly in the Meta ad account.

What it does

Website audiences use the account's pixel over 1–180 days, optionally only people who fired a specific event (view, add to cart, purchase, lead and others) or visited pages containing a URL fragment; already collected data is included. Lookalike audiences are built from a source audience in the same account for a country and a size of 1–20% of its population.

The audience list shows type, size estimate, retention, lookalike settings and delivery status, read live from Meta. New and existing ad sets can include and exclude these audiences.

Why it helps

  • Remarketing and prospecting audiences in a few clicks.
  • No duplicates: repeating a name reuses the existing audience.
  • Audiences do not spend money, so they are created without an approval step.

How to set it up

  1. Open Campaigns and press “Audiences” for a Meta account.
  2. Create a website audience: pixel, retention days, optional event and URL rule.
  3. Or create a lookalike: source audience, country and size.
  4. Use the audiences when creating or editing ad sets.

Good to know

  • Meta requires accepting the Custom Audiences terms once in Ads Manager; the service tells you when that is needed.
  • A lookalike needs at least 100 people from the source in the chosen country and can take hours to fill.
