Period comparison: previous period, month or year
Is performance improving? Period comparison answers with absolute and relative change for every metric — and warns you when the comparison is not like-for-like.
What it does
Choose a period and a comparison mode: previous period of the same length, previous calendar month, or the same period last year. The service shows both values, the absolute change and the percentage change.
Growth from zero is shown as “from zero”, not as an infinite percentage. Warnings appear when periods have a different number of days, when data is incomplete or when preliminary days are included.

- Honest percentages that do not explode on small bases.
- Warnings prevent wrong conclusions from uneven periods.
How to set it up
- Open Analytics and select a period.
- Open the “Comparison” tab and choose the mode.
- Read the change column; check warnings under the table.
- Ask the AI analyst to explain the biggest changes if needed.
Good to know
- Year-over-year comparison needs history from last year in the service.
- Comparisons are also available to AI clients through MCP with an interactive card.
