Top performers: best ad sets, ads and campaigns
“What works best?” is the first question in every review. Top performers answers it with one transparent rule applied everywhere in the product.
What it does
Candidates are items with spend and results of the most common result type. An item has a “good price” when its cost per result is not higher than the median of the candidates. Among them, the ones with the most results are leaders: three in the structure tree, one per breakdown dimension.
With five or more candidates, a leader needs at least two results, so a single lucky conversion does not crown a winner.
Why it helps
- Quickly decide where to scale budget.
- The same rule for campaigns, ad sets, ads and segments — easy to explain to clients.
- Resistant to noise from tiny numbers.
How to set it up
- Open Analytics for the account and period.
- Look at the leaders summary at the top of the structure tree.
- Expand leaders to see their ads and breakdowns.
- Propose a budget increase for a leader if it has room to grow.
Good to know
- Leaders are relative to the selected period and account.
- The Winner Scaler agent template uses a similar signal to propose scaling.
