Conversions broken down by action type

A campaign's conversions are usually a mix of actions. The breakdown by action type shows exactly which ones happened and how much value each brought.

What it does

For Google Ads, conversions are broken down by conversion action with their values. For Meta, actions are read with their types — lead, purchase, complete registration, contact, custom conversions and more.

The breakdown is stored daily with the rest of the analytics, so you can check it for any period and see when a new action type started or stopped firing.

Why it helps

  • Spot a tracking problem when an expected action disappears.
  • Understand whether a campaign drives the actions you pay for.
  • Separate primary goals from secondary micro-conversions.

How to set it up

  1. Open Analytics for the account and period.
  2. Open the conversions breakdown for a campaign.
  3. Compare action types and values; adjust the client's KPI event if needed.

Good to know

  • Only actions reported by the platform are shown; website events not linked to ads appear in GA4 reports.
  • Values are shown in the account currency.
