Analytics & reporting

Performance Max asset performance

Performance Max mixes assets automatically. The asset report shows which headlines, images and videos actually serve and how they perform.

What it does

For a selected Performance Max campaign, assets are listed by asset group with their type, serving status and reasons (for example, limited or not eligible) and their own impressions, clicks, spend and conversions for the period.

Google no longer provides the “Best / Good / Low” labels in the current API version, so the report shows the asset's actual metrics instead.

Why it helps

  • Replace assets that never serve or perform poorly.
  • Understand what Google's automation favors.
  • Data-driven briefs for new creatives.

How to set it up

  1. Open Analytics and a Google Ads account.
  2. Open “Impression share, quality, assets” and choose PMax assets.
  3. Select a Performance Max campaign and period.
  4. Plan replacements for weak assets and add new ones through a proposal.
